The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
