Iran Claims Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
