Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
